Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a performance one week by the University of Wisconsin Marching
Band (Bucky Badger appearance alert!), followed by bluegrass, country, classic rock and swing groups

Fine art and fine craft works of original design in fiber, glass, pottery, paint, mixed media, jewelry, photography and wood. This is not the work of mass production studios. Entertainment by singer/songwriters, drum and dance ensembles, even a psychic reader. Food carts with local treats. Funds raised go to arts program scholarships. Tip: Be sure to stroll down Market Street to see the Samantha the Dragon sculpture crafted by local artists.
First Saturday in June, 9 a.m.-4:00 p.m., between Lyster Historical House and the restored DeForest Railroad Depot, 201-215 DeForest Street, DeForest
Time to think of “garden” as a noun and a verb. Snap up tried-and-true perennials from the gardens of local Master Gardeners, along with shrubs, annuals and vegetables. Don’t be shy about asking your gardening questions. All profits are donated to local charities.
July 3-4, Fireman’s Park between Jefferson and DeForest Street, DeForest
Every town has its July 4th festivities, we just happen to think ours is quite special. There’s a parade, live music, beer garden, car show and really wonderful fireworks display. For those blending the holiday with their usual fitness pursuits, sign up for the Saturday morning Freedom Run – choose the 5K or 10K.
